Free Man Publishing Company (Free Man or Freeman) provides editing and publishing preparation assistance to authors who want to present their trade paperback books—hard copy print-on-demand and online electronic format—to the public without any publishing fee. Please review the base service and the base process for details.

* Note: For Farrah Chronicles, Freeman services were solely confined to initial preparation for upload on Createspace and cover art work (no editing). For Libertarian Lessons of South Park, only a light copyedit for a second revision.
We also have pioneered an exciting new Web-enabled medium called ‘storygraph’—a collage-like single-sheet or scroll representation, directionally embedding images and text boxes to tell your unique human story (life, learning, family, family business, career, hobby, workflow, technical descriptions, etc.). Check out our storygraph product-service here.
The Publishing Arrangement
The author pays Freeman a nominal agreed-upon hourly rate for any editing, formatting, word processing, and posting to the online POD publisher with whom the author establishes an account. The author retains copyright and maintains responsibility for book pricing, distribution, and so forth with the publisher. Details of the publishing procedure are set forth on this page entitled The Process.
The same basic ‘Rockford Files’ contract [$200 a day ($25 per hour) plus expenses] applies to storygraph construction, as shown on The Storygraph page. Also, in terms of copyright, the client retains ownership and control of all deliverables, with Free Man serving a support function. The base rate is negotiable during these early days of business development and we have provided substantial discounts to early adopters in Spring 2014.
