About Brian Wright

Hello, I'm Brian Wright, the proprietor and chief content provider to this Web opinion and review site. The Coffee Coaster (thecoffeecoaster.com) has been around since late 2006, and in early 2012 I finally decided to give the site a major makeover with this Wordpress implementation. My views are 'wholistic libertarian,' meaning focused on the spiritual--I like to use the word: essentual--evolution we will need, individually, in order to reach the New Paradigm of peace, freedom, and abundance. Let's help one another in the process.

Movie Review: Secretariat (2010)

Disney inspirational with top-tier actors __ 8/10
Reviewed by Brian Wright

SecretariatPenny Chenery: More than three thousand years ago a man named Job complained to God about all his troubles and the Bible tells us that God answered: “Do you give the horse its strength or clothe its neck with a flowing mane? Do you make him leap like a locust, striking terror with his proud snorting? He paused fiercely, rejoicing in his strength and charges into the fray. He laughs at fear, afraid of nothing, He does not shy away from the sword. The quiver rattles against his side, along with the flashing spear and lance. In frenzied excitement he eats up the ground. He cannot stand still when the trumpet sounds.” Continue reading

Guest Column: Free Don Siegelman… Still

Mr. Obama: Please restore justice, pardon my dad!
by Dana Siegelman

Free DonThis column is a direct copy of Dana’s heartfelt appeal for her father—former governor of Alabama Don Siegelman—who is doing hard time for a (non) ‘crime’ that was maliciously and wrongfully prosecuted basically by evil ‘friends of Karl Rove.’ [One of the tragic ironies of our demented era that the vicious little mass-murdering turd blossom Rove remains at large, while a good man languishes behind bars.] Continue reading

Brian’s Column: Immigration Nation

Whither (or wither) goeth us?

PaineThis column was originally written in April of 2007. I was trying for a sort of Mike Royko—great humorist and syndicated columnist for the Chicago newspapers—approach. Obviously I have some work to do, but I feel the immigration issue is one that the Men of the Power Sickness are using to divide us, similar to race. Today we are dealing with the distraction of the Zimmerman-Martin brouhaha while the MOPS keeps on taking away our freedom and humanity every day in every way. Immigration will be used and is being used in the same way, “You and him go ahead and duke it out, while I hold all the money.”  Continue reading

Movie Review: Fair Game (2010)

Docudrama sticks harsh truth to power __ 9/10

Fair Game

Joe Wilson: The responsibility of a country is not in the hands of a privileged few. We are strong, and we are free from tyranny as long as each one of us remembers his or her duty as a citizen. Whether it’s to report a pothole at the top of your street or lies in a State of the Union address, speak out! Ask those questions. Demand that truth. Democracy is not a free ride. I’m here to tell you. But, this is where we live. And if we do our job, this is where our children will live. God bless America.

Guest Column: George Zimmerman Trial

Life and death in the American psyop
by Jon Rappoport

Zimmerman_RappoportThere were at least six extraordinary moves before the suspect, George Zimmerman, was brought up on charges.

An out-of-date photo, showing Trayvon Martin as a young innocent boy, flashed across television screens all over the world.

News stories asserted that a white man named Zimmerman killed a black child. Continue reading

Brian’s Column: Google Evil Archive 2009-12-07

The “Don’t be Evil” company coughs up a fur ball

Note: This column documents a long ago experience when as a Web proprietor I interacted with the Google dynasty and its—let’s just say—”bizarre and/or arbitrarily applied” policy regarding the small fries it would do business with. Google, two weeks previous to this column, precipitously and inscrutably canceled my Google CPC[1] advertising account; there was no telling whether Google would further downgrade its valuation of my site, e.g. lowering the Coffee Coaster’s page rank—regardless of what I did or didn’t  do. So in the immortal words of Vince Majestyk, “There’s no sense getting on their good side.” I wrote this column as a warning to others at the time. And I resurrect it now, three and a half years later mostly for historical reference. Since Google has become the antithesis now of a company that doesn’t do evil.  — Brian Wright Continue reading

Book Review: SNaP Module #6: Productive Action (2010)

The practical ‘what-you-can-do-now’ to prosper book
by Brian Wright

Liberatio Technology User's Guide: Module #6: Productive Action… as one contributes to the dawning of a world of liberty. In naming this book, this module in the SNaP series, I went through a few iterations before settling on ‘productive action.’ But productivity is what I wanted to stress, because the Patharchy has been quite successful in suppressing the life force and its material foundations among the natural humans worldwide. Moreover, I needed to focus on economic actions that are productive at the same time they pose alternatives to the statist system. Continue reading
