Donut Whole: Oh Say Can’t You See…

My take on NFL and other pro sports’ players kneeling for the national anthem
by Brian R. Wright

Here are two articles by journalists/columnists I respect and they pretty much nail the issue, at least on the Independent-Individualist surface from which yours truly views the world:

Brandon Smith: “NFL Players Have a First Amendment Right to Act Like Little Bitches

“If NFL players refused to stand for the national anthem because they believed in the ideals it represents but felt that our government no longer represented those ideals, then I would be in full support of their motives. Obviously, this is not why they are protesting. If their motivation was about speaking against corrupt government, then they would have refused to stand for the anthem back when Barack Obama, a Constitution-wrecking cabana boy for the elites, was in office.”

Jon Rappoport: “An Open Letter to NFL Players: You’re Being Used

“In other articles, I’ve written about solutions to some of these problems. Here, I’ll simply say that if you NFL protestors want to make a difference, you need to stand up and do something harder than you’re doing now. Right now, you’re unwitting agents of NO CHANGE and racial divide-and-conquer.

“YOU’RE FOCUSING ON POLICE BRUTALITY, AS IF THAT’S THE DEEPEST PROBLEM IN BLACK INNER CITIES. It isn’t. So you’re leading people away from recognizing and admitting what the real problems are.

“What you’re doing now, men, isn’t going to work. You’re only going to sow more conflict.”

Guest Column: Mainstream Boogie

Life and death in the fake news business
by Jon Rappoport [Original column here]

I wrote this piece based on my knowledge of mainstream reporters and their work, their lives, their forgotten hopes, their realizations (in some cases) that they’re trapped in a system.
Most of them don’t want to get out. They become creatures of the night they once wanted to illuminate.
You’re a mainstream reporter striving to stay afloat. The word has drifted down from the top that this is the season for inflicting wounds on Donald Trump, no matter what, no matter what happened or didn’t happen on a rumpled bed in a hotel room in Moscow, no matter what Putin did or didn’t do to influence the election, no matter who leaked the DNC emails to WikiLeaks, no matter what Michael Flynn said or didn’t say to a Russian on the phone, no matter who or what James Comey is fronting for; every real or possible or non-existent detail needs to be blown up into a gigantic scandal of the moment, this president has to go, and your assignment is to keep cutting him, it’s beyond the point where anybody in your business cares who he is and what he’s done and what he’s doing, so pump up the hysteria, shove in the blade wherever you can, THIS is how your success will be measured, you want a light to shine on you, so attack, attack without let-up, don’t think, don’t think about what’s going on here, the important thing is:
The news business is: careers.

Guest Column: The War Party vs. Trump

The Witch Hunt for Donald Trump Surpasses the Salem Witch Trials of 1692-93
By Paul Craig Roberts [Full original post here.]

Editor’s Note: Not following the Mainstream Noise any longer, I can only imagine what’s going on and the level of brainwashing/trance-inducement of the general public in play. It has totally amazed me how otherwise reasonable people have surrendered all independent judgment and common sense by buying the unadulterated nonsense—pure War Party propaganda—Big Media is trying to shove down our throats. Thus Dr. Roberts’ post is exquisitely timed, please spread to everyone you know who retains half a brain cell’s chance of thinking for himself. The real problem is the continuing baiting of and assaults against Russia and the rush toward war.

We should be scared to death that Sally Q. Yates served as a prosecutor in the Justice (sic) Department for 27 years. In the New York Times Sally takes high umbrage to Trump’s criticism of his attorney general, Sessions, and blows Trump’s disappointment with Sessions into an attack by Trump on the rule of law. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/28/opinion/sally-yates-protect-the-justice-department-from-president-trump.html

Sally has it backwards. The rule of law is being attacked by the appointment of a special prosecutor to find something on Trump in the absence of any evidence of a crime.

In 1940 US attorney general Robert Jackson warned federal prosecutors against “picking the man and then putting investigators to work, to pin some offense on him. It is in this realm—in which the prosecutor picks some person whom he dislikes or desires to embarrass, or selects some group of unpopular persons and then looks for an offense—that the greatest danger of abuse of prosecuting power lies. It is here that law enforcement becomes personal, and the real crime becomes that of being unpopular with the predominant or governing group, being attached to the wrong political views or being personally obnoxious to, or in the way of, the prosecutor himself.” Continue reading
