Movie Review: Little Children (2006)

Little Children ___ 8/10
Odd, tragicomic tale of romantics
seeking love outside loveless marriages

Written by Todd Field and Tom Perrotta
Directed by Todd Field

Kate Winslet … Sarah Pierce
Patrick Wilson … Brad Adamson
Jennifer Connelly … Kathy Adamson
Gregg Edelman … Richard Pierce
Phyllis Somerville … May McGorvey
Jackie Earle Haley
… Ronnie J. McGorvey
Noah Emmerich … Larry Hedges
Jane Adams
… Sheila

This one slipped by me last year, though Kate Winslet and Jackie Earle Haley were up for Oscars for best actress and best supporting actor, respectively, and the writers were up for best screenplay.  It’s an odd movie for a number of reasons, but I found the voiceover narrative really funny, like one of those wild and crazy documentaries of the 50s:

“Bob becomes irritable when his golfing clubs are misplaced in the garage.”

“Nancy wishes her bottom were not so large as she walks to her normal sunbathing location on the beach.”

The story starts in a park where an impromptu frustrated-wives club has formed with Sarah Pierce (Winslet) as an overeducated, and somewhat reluctant member.  Sarah and the other young women gossip and watch over their handful of children.

The most titillating gossip is about a young house husband (Patrick Wilson as Brad Adamson) who brings his boy to the park as well.  Calling him the Prom King, the other women fantasize about this attractive guy who keeps to himself. Sarah doesn’t understand the fuss, and when the girls dare her to get his phone number she walks right up and makes introductions. Continue reading

Guest Column: Schoolmarms Packin’ Heat?

Columbine Survivor Turned State Rep. Pushing to Allow Armed Teachers
By AWR Hawkins [Original full column here via Breitbart]

Columbine attack survivor and Colorado House Minority Leader Patrick Neville (R-45) is a strong proponent of arming teachers for self-defense.

Neville was first elected to office in 2014 and has introduced his bill each year since that time without success. He hopes this year will be different because of the increased attention paid to the defenseless posture of unarmed teachers and staff.

The Washington Times reports Neville’s contention that more Columbine students would have survived the April 20, 1999, Columbine attack if faculty and/or staff had been armed to take out the attackers. And he believes arming teachers now will protect future students from evil men who are planning attacks.

He described his legislation: “This act would allow every law-abiding citizen who holds a concealed carry permit, issued from their chief law-enforcement officer, the right to carry concealed in order to defend themselves and most importantly our children from the worst-case scenarios.”

Neville said he sees his legislation as something he can do “to prevent Colorado families from enduring the hardships my classmates and I faced that day [at Columbine].”

He noted that the common theme is mass shootings is not weapon type or magazine capacity, but “gun-free zones.”

The Religion of FLOW (Increment 2: Final Outline)

FLOW (Fellowship for Liberation of Our World)
What I have in mind to get started [updated 20180812]
By Brian R. Wright

Note: I’m choosing to build this column as a description in stages. This column builds on the former one, which is the 1st Increment of the column here. The former column is kept solely as development reference; full FLOW description is the final stage — brw

Some recent instructive face time with one of my more insistent muses has caused me to realize that I need to ‘get on the stick,’ as my peers would tell me in high school. I couldn’t even answer her briefly as to what in fact FLOW was or is, much more why anyone would want to join up… or how she would benefit from it.

Recent dreams here, here, and here have provided some light along the path, then the reinvigoration of my Falun Dafa practice has supplied what heretofore had been missing for the breathing sacred being, i.e. you and me. I sketched what you see on the right in less than a couple of minutes while waiting to shower—it’s the initial FLOW chart, 🙂 so to speak, everything is anticipated there, just not positioned exactly where it will turn out.

Yes, I am building FLOW as a faith or religion with the same features of any of the Abra-hamic ones: Judaism, Christianity, Islam—although sans ‘God.’ Akin to Buddhism, except supporting the apotheosis of each individual’s independent consciousness and Being … in accordance with the laws of Nature and the sacred nonaggression principle. Also, like, say, Unitarianism, tho without any doors open for state-worship or altruistic-identity politics. Rational, spiritual, creative, and benevolent: Ayn Rand, Eckhart Tolle, Jon Rappoport, and Bagger Vance meet one another for a common purpose: our mutual spiritual well being.

A religion has two general aspects: doctrine and practice. I’ll summarize each first, then expand with narrative to where I am now in the integration.

Twenty-Five Words: FLOW Doctrine

Just as flow in nature is enhanced by removing obstacles, FLOW leverages the cultivation practice of Falun Dafa to dispel barriers to independent conscious-ness, and fosters an individual’s inner peace, outer peace, and creative abundance.

Falun Dafa, briefly explained here in a flyer I composed for its DVD, is the missing link I was looking for to breathe life into the FLOW system, make the FLOW idea and practice much more alive for people. [The ideas behind FLOW are vibrant, but they are, after all, mind constructs, which can become the tail of mental illusion wagging the dog of one’s soulful reality… which is, after all, the general human affliction we’re trying to reverse.]

Why Falun (wheel) Dafa (great law)? Because it’s a very simple set of exercises that integrates a focus on justice for the individual in society. Truth, Tolerance, Compassion: these are the pillars Falun Dafa wants its adherents to cultivate. The meditative practice is from Chinese antiquity, and was founded in modern form by Mr. Li Hongzhi in China near the time of the democracy protests there. It acquired 10s of millions of followers, and, on account of these followers protesting general mistreatment by the government, it became the target of a horrific Chinese state persecution that continues to this day.[1]

Significant philosophical thinking with individualist political foundations complement the Falun Dafa spiritual entry-assist for FLOW, and will be outlined in planned documentation. Continue reading

Movie Review: A Few Good Men (1992)

A Few Good Men (1992)_____9/10
A morality play that hits on all cylinders

Jack Nicholson … Col. Nathan R. Jessep
Demi Moore … Lt. Cdr. JoAnne Galloway
Kevin Bacon … Capt. Jack Ross
Kiefer Sutherland … Lt. Jonathan Kendrick
Kevin Pollak … Lt. Sam Weinberg
Wolfgang Bodison…Lance Cpl. Harold W. Dawson
James Marshall
… Pfc. Louden Downey
J.T. Walsh … Lt. Col. Matthew Andrew Markins

Harold, you don’t need to wear a patch on your arm to have honor.” — Lt. Daniel Kaffee

What’s special, or even topical, about this movie is it speaks to how military honor can be so readily suborned by the authoritarian impulse.  And second, how the same honest pride—not to mention competence—is necessary to bring such posturing would-be tyrants to justice.

No, I”m not going to launch into another angled criticism of the Bushoviks; but the facts are apropos: in the name of a notion of high-minded military protection the Cheney-Bush Oil Junta (CBOJ) performs criminal acts of the highest, deadliest, and most treasonable nature.

CBOJ’s acts are much worse in scale than what Colonel Nathan Jessep (Jack Nicholson in an Academy Award-winning role) is ultimately accused of, which is ordering a “Code Red” that winds up killing a Marine in his barracks on Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (Gitmo). But what he’s accused of is of the same essence, bred of the same perverse conceit of absolute power. Continue reading

Guest Column: A Fairy Tale with a Happy Ending

A revolutionary financial ecosystem for (widely) shared abundance
By Steve Smith

Editor’s note: This was a story posted to me by Steve in comments on one of the Facebook Groups I visit, and it basically hooked me line and sinker. Still does, at least with its bold potential. It’s definitely one of those self-fulfilling visions whose fruition depends on those who see the light… and make the light… thru investing their parti-cipation. I have already started learning-by-doing by placing my own creative products and services up on the ecosystem. Even in its less than fully developed state, Frega is our only substantial ray of hope to upend the Death Star and enable humanity to breathe.

Part 1

Once upon a time there was an enchanted Leprechaun called Paddy. Paddy and his friends were upset that the people in the kingdom were being harshly treated and bullied by their masters. The mean old Ogres controlled the merchants in all of the Kingdom of Aotearoa, for their own benefit. And then there were the Money Lenders who controlled the money supply, enforced high interest rates and used extortion to feather their own nests.

People just couldn’t get ahead because of crippling debt and difficult laws that were designed to control them and to keep them in servitude. So Paddy and a few of his friends got together one evening by the light of a candle, around a kitchen table in the sleepy little hamlet of Titirangi…. and they began to plot. They began to make plans that would help to make the kingdom a nicer place, a fairer place, a happier place.

The plan was simple in its objectives. Paddy said to the group… “The Ogres and the Money Lenders keep each of us busy day and night in our little hamster wheels, turning out stuff to make THEM rich. Why don’t we all do this. Why don’t we join up our hamster wheels and work together, to make money that we can then share with everyone?” Continue reading

Book Review: The War on Terror (2017)

The plot to rule the Middle East
by Christopher Bollyn
Reviewed by Brian R. Wright

Talk about the perfect book to come along at the right time, The War on Terror is a godsend. For one thing, it’s brief, more important, concise, a book you can hand to a public official or even one of the three good mainstream journalists, and chances are maybe 10% they’ll read it… and correct their thinking.

Lately, Chris Bollyn, long an acclaimed inde-pendent international journalist who has hereto-fore focused on the evidence for Israel’s role in 9/11, has been arguing brilliantly for the dual, related frauds of 9/11 and the so-called War on Terror. This book lays out the convincing if not irrefutable case for the latter: the Israeli-Zionist deep state architecting and execution of the Western Cabal’s war OF terror and Empire to which innocent people of the world have been mercilessly subjected for going-on five decades… the ultimate objective being to fulfill the Greater Israel Project for full-spectrum dominance or destruction of Israel’s neighbors, then the remainder of the planet.

Mr. Bollyn helps the world’s thinkers and carers to finally turn the corner and call out those responsible for all these crimes. [The method I envision is a specially composed inter-national people’s grand jury serving as a Truth and Justice Commission along the para-meters we saw in indicting and undoing the apartheid state of South Africa.]

Background Reading

I feel the reader will find a better grasp of the global forces at play from the following works:

  • My own The Barrier Cloud—a module of my watershed, The Sacred Nonaggression Principle, which I made into a standalone booklet, it describes two essential meta concepts needed for understanding the Western Cabal. 1) The Barrier Cloud itself, and 2) The Men of the Power Sickness (MOPS) archetype and their motivation.
  • Alison Weir’s book—Against Our Better Judgment: How the US was used to create Israel: an interesting history lesson, showing the high-level machinations (beginning with the UK’s Balfour Statement in 1917) behind setting up Israel as a Zionist apartheid state despite no initial popular support in the American Jewish community.
  • Christopher Bollyn’s landmark uncovering of 9/11—Solving 9/11: The deception that changed the world. I reviewed it here. He provides an account that the evidence for Israel’s leading role in planning and execution of 9/11 is overwhelming: destruction of the WTC structural steel, foreknowledge, the suppressed Dancing Israelis story, email notices to Israeli individuals working at the WTCs, etc.
  • Gilad Atzmon’s The Wandering Who?—A true masterpiece, which I have just recently read and reviewed here. It is also a bold and brave book that explores the true nature of what authors like Weir and Bollyn might simply call Zionism but what Atzmon reasons a large segment of (“third category”) Jews is a ‘meta-Zionism,’ constituting a humanitarian prob-lem because of its vastly destructive, collective-mind orient-ation, and now with the Jewish State, unbridled POWER.

Of course, there are many other works forming a background for what Mr. Bollyn is presenting in his devastating handbook about the War on Terror. Dr. Alan Sabrosky, who writes the foreword to the book, notably articulates the case for 9/11 being a “classic Mossad operation” in this landmark video here, and others. Continue reading
