About Brian Wright

Hello, I'm Brian Wright, the proprietor and chief content provider to this Web opinion and review site. The Coffee Coaster (thecoffeecoaster.com) has been around since late 2006, and in early 2012 I finally decided to give the site a major makeover with this Wordpress implementation. My views are 'wholistic libertarian,' meaning focused on the spiritual--I like to use the word: essentual--evolution we will need, individually, in order to reach the New Paradigm of peace, freedom, and abundance. Let's help one another in the process.

Brian’s Column: Detroit Breakdown and New Pledge of Allegiance

Omen of the Times, Need to Rethink America, New Citizen’s Oath

ManMauledDetroitFrankly, I’m reluctant to lead with such a horrifying story that heralds the degeneration into Third World chaos in what was once a damned fine city… and believe it or not, still can be again. But we’re all going to have to face facts that affect the whole rest of Michigan, the country, and the world. [If you want to read the report on a man who was mauled to (probable) death, then click on the scanned column segment here on the right from Saturday’s (10/4/2014) Detroit Free Press.]

Savage behavior unleashed on unsuspecting persons is not confined to the Motor City or Rust Belt cities that have been destroyed by the ‘Podocracy'[1]—via runaway statism. And this incident in unfortunate Detroit should serve as a wake-up call across the world that Western civilization stands in dire peril of complete collapse… if enough of us who can still think for ourselves do not make a clear stand. Movie Review: Management (2008)

Better than average ‘quirky’ film ___ 7.5/10

ManagementMike: Take care of yourself a little… so that the people who love you don’t feel like they’re annoying you!

So along comes a simple movie with eccentric characters in a long line of such movies, from, say, Harold and Maude (1971) to Night Shift (1982) Benny and Joon (1993) to Stuck on You (2004) to Sunshine Cleaning Company (2008) to dozens of others over the years. And we tend to like movies in which one or more of the principals is a ‘few bubbles off of plumb.’ When you look at various projects available to Hollywood actors who have ‘made it’—and that designation certainly applies to Jennifer Anniston and Steve Zahn—I feel the better ones take time for some smaller, odder ideas that give them more delight in the performance than cash in the bank. Guest Column: Is ‘First US Ebola Patient’ a Hoax?

Banner headline for duplicitous claim suggests hidden agenda
From Jon Rappoport at nomorefakenews.com
October 1, 2014

EbolaGuy

Trumpeted headline news:

An unnamed Ebola patient is isolated at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, after arriving from Liberia (see also this).

First of all, we have the highly dubious marketing aspect of the whole event, in order to achieve an explosive effect.

Media outlets, taking their cue from the CDC, are using the term, “1st US Ebola patient,” when that is obviously false.

Several other Ebola patients have been treated in the US, most notably Dr. Keith Brantly. Continue reading

Brian’s Column: Motor City Witchcraft Trial(s) Published

Book to free Doreen Hendrickson and share the love of Cracking the Code

WitchcraftThe Motor City Witchcraft Trial(s) is a diary of the so-called trial of Doreen Hendrickson in federal court for criminal contempt for ‘refusing to obey a lawful order of a judge.’ [The judge commanded Doreen to perjure herself on a tax form by entering a specific value in a specific line of a specific government form… which, of course, Doreen, being an honest, brave woman, refused to do.]

Doreen is the wife of Peter Hendrickson, author of Cracking the Code (CtC): The fascinating truth about taxation in America[1] (2003). This book has gained quite a following across the country for fluently yet painstakingly demonstrating that the federal so-called income tax, while constitutional, simply and solely applies to Americans whose earnings are due to exercise of federal privilege—via fed employment, officeholding, and the like. Book Review: The End of Faith (2004)

Religion, terror, and the future of reason
by Sam Harris
Reviewed by Brian Wright

FaithThe End of Faith is the watershed book for uniting rational, spiritual—and yes, libertarian—humanists in an unprecedented worldwide exercise in the elevation of consciousness.  Several books recently have taken up the cause of releasing our minds from specters of the past, particularly any sorts of deities that insist upon abandonment of natural reason for salvation.

All published in 2006, we have Harris’s own Letter to a Christian Nation, which cleverly skewers the most extreme faith-based positions of too many of our neighbors; UK scientist and author Richard Dawkins gave us The God Delusion, a more academic dance around the escape hatches from reality; and on the lighter side we got The Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM) by the one and only Bobby Henderson. Movie Review: Sideways (2004)

In vino… funny! __ 9/10

SidewaysMaya: No, I… I like to think about the life of wine.
Miles: Yeah.
Maya: How it’s a living thing. I like to think about what was going on the year the grapes were growing; how the sun was shining; if it rained. I like to think about all the people who tended and picked the grapes. And if it’s an old wine, how many of them must be dead by now. I like how wine continues to evolve, like if I opened a bottle of wine today it would taste different than if I’d opened it on any other day, because a bottle of wine is actually alive. And it’s constantly evolving and gaining complexity. That is, until it peaks, like your ’61. And then it begins its steady, inevitable decline…
Miles: Hmm.
Maya: And it tastes so fucking good! Continue reading

Guest Column: The Walls of the Big Lie are Crumbling…

An absolutely monumental shift is in process…
excerpted from PersonalLiberty.com, The Dollar Vigilante August 6, 2014

http://2.gravatar.com/avatar/d0b0af1364c6ab591796b5a751eedc82… that most have not recognized yet. The truth, or at least some truth, is about to be shown to the American masses about 9/11. I say American masses because everywhere I’ve gone in the world outside of the United States, with few exceptions, almost everyone knows that the U.S. government conspiracy theory on 9/11 is for people with tinfoil hats who are either completely zombified or are under mass hypnosis. Most of the rest of the world looks on the U.S. like “The Truman Show” and can’t believe how many people in the show don’t realize it’s not real. Continue reading
