Stonebeam 29. Tribute and Remembrance of Glenna Long

Benevolent Presence to Continue
Story Shot 29, by Brian R. Wright  PDF Version, 26 July 2021

David Lonier put the word out long ahead of time, the event was held on Saturday, July 24th, in Auburn Hills where he and his beloved Glenna had spent 30+ glorious years together. Her health had faded and her final days were spent at a Rochester rehab facility where she was a permanent resident, and where Dave would visit her almost daily. [I, too, visited there a couple of times… this was before the ‘covid’ operation kicked in; David assures me she received plenty of TLC during her final days.]

The location of the remembrance—I’m seeing probably 40-50 people from all walks of her life, assembled here: her children, members of her garden club, a lot of her fellow proliberty activists—are the grounds of their home, in particular the “Garage Mahal” that she and Dave set up for political events. David and Glenna were the linchpins of just about any true patriot activity for Southeast Michigan. [We used it as a staging place for (successful) petitioning against civil asset forfeiture and longstanding fights against state government corruption authorizing radiation assaults—via smart meters and 5G. And so on.]

You can see the Constitution Ford, here on the left, which was removed from one side of the Garage.

My own connections with Dave and Glenna are thru some of the activism against the high-crime assaults, also a brief stint of time with the, let’s just say, Ron-Paul-liberty-oriented wing of the state and local Republicans. Shane Trejo gave an excellent recall of how “Glenna was right there in the county caucuses at a convention railing with her fists in the front row at the corrupt RINO actors who outnumbered us.” Continue reading

Brian’s Column: American First Principles Day, August 2

Setting up the Holiday and Invoking Our First Principles for the Common Good
By Brian R. Wright

Recently, while in attendance at the Oakland County, Michigan, meeting of Campaign for Liberty (C4L), master of ceremonies, Dennis Marburger, stated that the actual signing of the Declaration of Independence occurred on August 2, 1776. I had forgotten this little acknowledged fact, but truly this is a significant day. Because this is when those in the assembly actually put their ‘lives, fortunes, and sacred honor’ on the line. Perhaps more important to ‘the course of human events’ than political independence from England is the Declaration’s famous statement of what have become known as American First Principles—and, further, the foremost universal statement of INDIVIDUAL rights:[1]

  1. Equality before the law
  2. Natural rights of the individual
  3. Government’s sole purpose to secure these natural rights
  4. Government’s powers deriving from the People
  5. People’s direct authority to monitor and control government, even dissolve it

AKA American First Principles. These are the foundation of all valid laws for ‘our people’ … and by extension any other peoples willing to assert such inherent natural rights. [For ‘rights’ one may read ‘fundamental freedoms.’ I’m not going to quibble over terms. Like Ayn Rand, I’ll stipulate that a right is the moral claim of “freedom of action in a social context.”] The point is our individual rights—no matter who we are—are inviolable and we the people are in charge of all public servants whose job is solely to secure these rights. They screw up, we step in… it is a legal necessity and, indeed, we are morally and civically obliged to do so. Continue reading

Presentation to Oakland County Campaign for Liberty (C4L) on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of Survival of the USS Liberty, June 8, 1967
By Brian R. Wright

The importance of remembering and commemorating—not to mention bringing justice to the attackers and victims of—the horrific, intentional attack on the unarmed American intelligence USS Liberty in international waters during the so-called Six Day War in June of 1967… cannot be overstated. Yet I will be attempting to do so… as a civilian and an unmitigated partisan of the United States Armed Forces in their legitimate duties to protect and defend the Constitution and American First Principles “against all enemies foreign and domestic.”

This column is mainly a links page referring you to:

  • the video of my presentation to C4L [note I have a few errors of fact, e.g. of number of torpedoes fired by the Israeli gunboats (6 vs. the correct 5) and will be correcting and updating the source material from time to time],
  • my online pdf of that PowerPoint presentation to C4L in Troy, Michigan, June 6, 2017, which includes several links, including especially…
  • links to further research on Israel and Zionism wrt the Liberty… and liberty:

USS Liberty and Important Further Research Links

The latter bulleted item includes references that many readers have not been aware of [and for good reason], but need to be if we are to restore our republic. I’m going to list these key starter links below in this, their own separate document as it were: Continue reading

Article: Time to Redouble our Efforts

Donald Trump will need major help to see the light of liberty
Ron Paul, Campaign for Liberty

“So what does Donald Trump’s election as President mean?”

When a close friend of mine asked me that question shortly after the results poured in on election night, I tried to be as fair and objective as I could.

It means the American people are angry. With the rejection of Hillary Clinton, it means the American people are telling Washington, D.C. and its apologists in the press exactly where they can shove the status quo.

It means you and I are facing some real opportunities — and some very real dangers.

The American people have spoken, and they are fed up with business as usual.

But now the question becomes — will Washington listen? Continue reading

Brian’s Column: Where Can I Do the Most Good? (Part 1 of 2)

Panic attack at a GOP county convention

republican_symbolNovi, Michigan. It came on suddenly, triggered I think by the invocation—in this WASPish crowd, always a nod to the Christian God—that meandered to an end by stating how we should always cherish our great friend, Israel. What?!

First—and I’ve felt this way about virtually all of the Republican meetings I’ve been to since becoming a precinct delegate roughly two years ago—what’s an invocation of faith in ‘God’ doing at a political meeting? This is America, where people’s religious beliefs are their own business so long as, “they neither break my bones or pick my pocket,” as our great sage and secular saint Thomas Jefferson put it.

Second, what is the state of Israel doing in a Christian invocation? Is the speaker trying to ward off accusations of excluding Jews?  If so, why not say, let’s be nice to Jews… not let’s be nice to Israel? Then if we’re invoking kindness toward Jews, why not Muslims, Buddhists, humanists, and Great Pumpkinists? Which leads to the obvious conclusion that it’s best to dispense with religious observances in secular gatherings of this nature. If you want to solemnize the occasion, lead a moment of silence. Brian’s Column: Dead Horse, New Horse?

4Q 2015, Michigan. [Excerpt draft from upcoming The Truman Prophecy.]

HeinleinAnd it came to pass in the SLOW (Spartan Land of the Wolverine) and in most other  subrealms of the LOWDOWN—to be uttered in a deep Darth Vader-like voice—(Land of Worship for Deathstar Operations Worldwide No-Exceptions) that a onetime major—albeit never conventionally successful—movement for freedom sputtered to a halt. That ultimately petering-out political enterprise would be the Libertarian Party of Michigan (LPM) and Libertarian Party (LP) in general.

Moving parts in rubbing contact require lubrication to avoid excessive wear. [Good manners, consideration] … and formal politeness provide the lubrication where people rub together. Often the very young, the untraveled, the naive, the unsophisticated deplore these formalities as ’empty,’ ‘meaningless,’ or ‘dishonest,’ and scorn to use them. No matter how ‘pure’ their motives, they thereby throw sand into machinery that does not work too well at best.

Brian’s Column: The Howell Statement (2014)

Sandbox Exit-Plan Strategy for the Libertarian Party, by Brian Wright

IMG_20140518_123758 (3)… in an Era of Wanton US Federal Crimes and Terror. A proposed new strategy for the LP and LP of Michigan, at the latter’s state convention in Howell, Michigan, May 17, 2014. Chief contribution from that convention a resolution on grand juries as follows:

The LPM supports the reinvigoration and reassertion of the people’s ultimate authority—at local, state, and federal levels—to investigate and bring indictments of government corruption and crimes through statutory empanelment of grand juries. Continue reading
